Introduction

PaceTalk is a running pace coach app developed by Akeem McKenzie. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

Data We Collect

PaceTalk collects the following data during use:

• Location Data (GPS): Your device's GPS location is used during active runs to calculate your real-time running pace, distance, and route. Location data is processed on your device only.
• Run History: Summaries of your completed runs (date, duration, distance, average pace) are stored locally on your device.
• App Settings: Your pace zone preferences, voice pack selections, and other settings are stored locally on your device.

Data We Do NOT Collect

PaceTalk does not:

• Require you to create an account or log in
• Send any data to external servers
• Sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties
• Use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
• Collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers

Local Storage Only

All data generated by PaceTalk is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage). No data is transmitted over the internet during normal app usage. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

Location Data Usage

PaceTalk uses your device's GPS to calculate your running pace in real time. Location data is:

• Used only during active run tracking sessions
• Processed entirely on your device
• Not stored beyond the run summary (date, duration, distance, average pace)
• Not transmitted to any server or third party

PaceTalk requests background location access so that pace tracking and audio alerts continue to function when your screen is locked during a run. Background location is only active while a run is in progress.

Microphone Usage

PaceTalk may request microphone access for a future custom voice recording feature. This feature is not yet active. When available, any voice recordings will be processed through ElevenLabs' voice synthesis service to generate custom pace alert audio. No recordings are stored or transmitted without your explicit action.

Third-Party Services

ElevenLabs: A future Pro feature will use ElevenLabs' voice synthesis API to generate custom voice alerts from a short voice recording you provide. This feature is not yet active in the current version of PaceTalk. When activated, voice data will be sent to ElevenLabs solely for the purpose of generating your custom audio alerts. Please refer to ElevenLabs' Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.

No other third-party services are used by PaceTalk.

Children's Privacy

PaceTalk is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since PaceTalk does not collect personal data from any user, there is no risk of children's data being collected or stored.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by:

• Deleting the PaceTalk app from your device
• Clearing the app's data through your device's settings

There is no server-side data to request deletion of.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
